Summary of the Requirements
Here is a brief summary of each of the options from which you may wish to choose. This is not a full description of these programs or of the legal requirements. Of course, we will provide full details if you choose our services.
As an Investor, you have proven management experience in a business or profession. The Canadian government is currently reviewing its Investor program and is not accepting new applications. However, the Quebec government’s Immigration Investor program is in full operation. Here are its main requirements: You and your spouse (if any) have a total net worth of at least CAD $800,000 (Canadian dollars) . You have the financial means to make a passive investment of CAD $400,000 either by (1) deposit of that amount through a broker, which would be refunded to you interest-free after five years, or (2) payment of CAD $120,000 (non-refundable) to cover interest to secure an investment loan of CAD $400,000.
As an Entrepreneur, you have business experience. You and your spouse have personal assets totalling at least CAD $ 300,000. You would be required to start a new business or to buy into an existing business in Canada, to have an active role in its day to day management, and meet certain employment and profitability requirements.
As a Self-Employed applicant, you will have experiene as a self-employed businessperson, and the personal assets of you and your spouse equal at least CAD $ 100,000. You will express interest in carrying on self-employment in the province of Quebec or, in the rest of Canada, you might carry on a career such as a high level artist or athlete or in certain circumstances farming.

Work Permits: from Temporary status to Permanent Resident
Persons who are not permanent residents normally require a Work Permit to work legally in Canada, even at the executive level. Before issuing a Work Permit, the authorities may require the employer to advertise for the position and to obtain approval of the offer of employment. Such procedures may take several weeks and not all employment offers are approved. It is best to begin working on the file as early as possible to improve the likelihood of acceptance by the authorities. Certain exceptions to these general requirements may apply depending on the circumstances of your situation, which may make it easier or more difficult to obtain approval for the foreign worker.
We can assist the prospective employee or the employer or both to complete the necessary forms and obtain job approval (when required), and this for initial Work Permit applications or for renewals.
